Whether you’ve just woken up with a migraine or felt a pinched nerve while at work, here at Chiropractic Care Australia, we understand how these symptoms can make it hard to concentrate and get through the day, we offer early and late appointment times on weekdays and Saturdays and are flexible in our schedule when the unexpected occurs.
Lower back pain refers to discomfort or pain experienced in the lumbar region, the area between the bottom of the rib cage and the top of the legs. It can vary from a dull ache to a sharp, stabbing sensation and can be acute (lasting a few days to a few weeks) or chronic (lasting longer than three months).
Sciatica is a condition characterised by pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which is the longest nerve in the body. This nerve runs from the lower back, through the hips and buttocks, and down each leg. When the sciatic nerve is compressed or irritated, it can lead to a range of symptoms, including:
Neck pain is discomfort or stiffness in the neck, which may extend into the shoulders, upper back, or arms. The pain can vary from mild to severe and affect the ability to move the head or neck freely.
Headaches are a common condition with varying types, severity, and duration. Understanding the different types of headaches and their potential causes can help manage and treat them effectively. Common types of headaches that we address in the clinic include tension, cluster, and sinus headaches.
Migraines are a neurological condition that involves recurrent, severe headaches. They can cause a range of symptoms beyond headache pain and are typically accompanied by disturbances in vision, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound.
Middle back pain refers to discomfort or pain in the thoracic region of the spine, which runs from the base of the neck to the bottom of the rib cage. Though less common than lower back pain, middle back pain can still be quite troublesome. It can vary in intensity, ranging from a dull ache to sharp or burning sensations.
A sports injury is any harm that occurs to an athlete during physical activity, whether in training, practice, or competition. These injuries can affect bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, or other soft tissues, ranging from minor strains to severe fractures or dislocations. Sports injuries often result from improper technique, overuse, lack of conditioning, or accidents.
A disc bulge, also known as a bulging disc, occurs when a spinal disc (the cushion between the vertebrae) extends outside its normal boundary. It is typically a result of wear and tear, injury, or degenerative changes in the spine.
Anatomy of a Disc
Spinal discs have two main components:
Nucleus pulposus: The soft, jelly-like centre.
Annulus fibrosus: The tough outer layer that holds the nucleus in place.
When the outer layer weakens, the inner portion can push outward, causing the disc to bulge.
Children’s health encompasses the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents. It involves ensuring that children grow and develop properly and receive proper nutrition, preventive care, and treatment for illnesses or injuries.
Age-related conditions are health issues that become more common or severe as people age. These conditions are often due to the natural aging process, which involves the gradual decline of various bodily functions. While aging itself is not a disease, the wear and tear on the body over time increases the risk of certain spinal health problems.
We typically assist our ageing patients with reducing falls and fall-related injuries; osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease); spinal Degeneration (Degenrative Disc Disease); Vertebral Compression Fractures; Chronic lower back pain; Neck pain and cervical spondylosis; sciatica; frozen shoulder; balcony and coordination issues; postural issues (dowager’s hump, hunch back/hyper kyphosis, scoliosis).
Chiropractic care for geriatric patients focuses on gentle techniques tailored to older adults’ specific needs, often in conjunction with other forms of therapy, like physical therapy or massage, to enhance overall health and function.
